Coming from vineyards in Melgaco, Portugal's northernmost wine region, this blend of 50% Arinto, 20% Loureiro, 20% Trajadura, and 10% Alvarinho is delightful. Grapes are grown on steep, terraced vineyards originally planted in 1988, and this estate-bottled Vinho Verde crushes its mass-produced competitors sold in big box stores.
Decanter - 89 points - "A quintessential fresh and approachable Vinho Verde, with delicate floral notes over a juicy layer of white and yellow orchard fruit. Rosemary oil, lime essence and melon fill the mid palate with fleshy intensity, lifted by the subtlest petillance. There's a soft unctuosity that makes this perfect both as a enjoyable aperitif or companion to seafood and poultry."
