R.H. Coutier is a highly-respected Champagne's grower-producer, crafting estate-grown wines exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards in the village of Ambonnay, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. The Coutier family has farmed these prized vineyards for generations, with roots in the village dating back to the early 1600s. While Ambonnay is renowned for Pinot Noir, the family was among the first growers in the village to plant Chardonnay, creating a distinctive house style that marries the power of Ambonnay with remarkable elegance and finesse.
The Tradition Brut is a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, sourced entirely from Grand Cru vineyards and aged extensively on the lees before release. Rich yet beautifully balanced, it opens with aromas of crisp apple, pear, citrus zest, fresh brioche, and toasted almond. The palate is creamy and vinous, framed by fine bubbles and vibrant acidity, with notes of orchard fruit, chalky minerality, and warm pastry carrying through a long, energetic finish.
