The Jacono family are one of Sicily's most renowned, and they craft a range of wonderful values from their vineyards near Vittoria, in the southwestern corner of the island. Their Cerasuolo di Vittoria is 60% Nero d'Avola and 40% Frappato that saw 12 months of aging in primarily older oak barrels and another year of aging in bottle before release.
The finished wine is wonderful, with glorious notes of cherry and strawberry alongside more complex notes of rose petal, damp earth, and black pepper. Supple and juicy on the palate, it finishes with a nice wave of tannic grip. Delicious!
