One of the top Ripasso values out there, the Tezza family's Ma Roat (red moon) is a blend of 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 10% Corvione grown in Valapantena, the best sub-region of Valpolicella. Undergoing primary fermentation in stainless steel, the wine is then poured over/re-passed onto the skins of Tezza's Amarone where it undergoes secondary fermentation.
Offering up attractive notes of warm raspberry, blueberry liqueur, milk chocolate, and spice, it is dry yet rich with soft tannins and mild acidity. If you like rich, supple, and smooth reds at great prices, you should give it a try.
