Presqu'ile Pinot Noir Santa Barbara County
Regular price $26.99/
I’ve been a longtime fan of Presqu'ile's wines, as I think they do a great job of showing why Santa Barbara County is a great spot to grow and make Pinot Noir. Their estate vineyards in the Santa Maria Valley are farmed sustainably, with a real focus on capturing freshness and detail, and in the cellar it’s all about restraint -- native fermentations, thoughtful use of oak, and no heavy-handed winemaking to get in the way.
This bottling is a great snapshot of what they do so well. I love the balance of fruit and earth that flows throughout this wine. Lifted and perfumed, it shows classic Pinot notes of Bing cherry, rose hips, dried orange rind, and sandalwood on a medium-bodied, fresh, and complex palate.
