Evan Martin is making some of the best Oregon wines you've probably never heard of. His minimal interventionist approach to winemaking is admirable, and it is obvious that he truly knows what he is doing. Martin's Yamhill Valley Vineyard Chardonnay is Oregon's answer to French Chablis.

Intensely mineralic, focused, and concentrated, this takes some time to unwind in the glass. This low-yielding site in the Northern Willamette Valley provides the grapes for this tense and tactile Chardonnay that we absolutely love. The critics loved it too!

96 points Wine Advocate -- 'The 2021 Chardonnay Yamhill Valley Vineyard is deep and expressive. Matured in French and Oregon oak for 11 months, it has intense aromas of grilled peaches, honeycomb, ginger, mushroom and candle smoke. The medium-bodied palate is youthfully tangy and tense with a coiled core of fruit and saline character that gives it a shimmery feel. It has a luxurious texture that extends the finish, and it's a pleasure to drink straight from the bottle despite its potential for graceful aging.'

95 points Jeb Dunnuck -- 'The 2021 Chardonnay Yamhill Valley Vineyard takes on much more depth, with notes of yellow flowers and a floral perfume of lemon curd, as well as a touch of fresh white peach. It’s medium-bodied but has a ripeness throughout.'
