Gary Farrell Chardonnay 'Olivet Lane Vineyard'

Gary Farrell was one of Sonoma's early all-star winemakers, and while he retired in 2004, his legacy carries on at his namesake winery. The wines are still excellent too, and this Chardonnay hails from the Olivet Lane Vineyard, one of the oldest and most noble sites in the Russian River Valley. 

This is taut, elegant, and complex Chardonnay with a lovely core of tropical fruits, pear, ripe citrus, honeysuckle, green herbs, and more. It's a pretty and juicy wine, but it's a complex and layered one as well.

"This fragrant version shows jasmine, orange blossom, toasted sesame seed and green cardamom notes alongside a core of tangerine, orange sherbet and dried mango flavors on a juicy and supple frame. The vibrant acidity leaps out on the finish, with hints of lemongrass, lemon and oregano lingering." - Wine Spectator, 93 points.
