Fento by Eulogio Pomares 'Pedraneira' Albarino

Eulogio Pomares is the mastermind behind Bodegas Zarate, one of the elite producers of Albarino. When he's not too busy running his estate, he and his cousin make a tiny amount (less than 300 cases) of a very special Albarino called Pedraneira.

From a 45-year-old vineyard just a stone's throw from the sea, this is one of the finest examples of Albarino we've ever offered. Fermented in large, French oak foudres with native yeasts and aged on the lies for 6 months, it is full-bodied, expansive, and deeply complex. Flowing with heady notes of nectarine, crystalline citrus, white peach, and saline minerality, it's a complete joy ride of a white wine.

A nuanced, saline Albariño shaped by its coastal origin, the Pedraneira opens with aromas of citrus peel, green apple and white peach, complemented by herbal and lightly aniseed notes. The palate is taut and energetic, offering vibrant acidity and a finely textured mouthfeel. Mineral and saline nuances drive the persistent finish, lending precision and a sense of place. This is a focused, terroir-driven Albariño with both tension and depth.
