Lockwood honed his skills while working under Ted Lemon at Littorai and Ehren Jordan at Failla. In 2010, he and his wife started Enfield as a side project. It quickly turned into a full-time job.
Enfield's Citrine Chardonnay is a blend of four different vineyards with an average vine age of almost 40 years, all planted in white mineral soils: Rorick Heritage, Haynes, Herron Lake, and Brosseau.
'Vibrant and intense, but balanced - as if the volume is turned up on all its parts equally. Briny citrus, orchard fruit, lacy white flowers and minerality are all on display. Dry extract gives the wine concentration and mid palate, while acidity holds the tension. It punches criminally above its weight, and should age as well as any vintage we have bottled.' - Winemaker Notes
