Jean-Luc is the 9th generation of his family to farm vines in the hamlet of Saint Marcel d'Ardeche, about 45 miles north of Avignon. He is helped by his wife Marie-Lise, and the couple are passionate growers and producers. They farm organically, they ferment with native yeasts, and their wines are a reflection of their skill and passion combined with the elements of this warm and sunny region.
Their Cotes du Rhone is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah from 50-year-old vines. Fermented in cement tanks, it pours a deep purple color and offer up full-bodied flavors of ripe blackberry, blueberry, and plum, along with more complex notes of peppery spices and wild herbs. Smooth, supple, and balanced, it is a wonderful value.
