Domaine de Colette Beaujolais-Villages 'Coteaux de Colette'

Husband and wife Jacky and Evelyne Gauthier run this wonderful estate, with holdings in Regnie and Morgon. Their vines are old, they farm organically, their yields are low, and their wines are lovely expressions of Gamay with ripe and sappy flavors. 

For those who like reds with plenty of body but not a lot of tannin, this is the ticket! It’s a bit like Pinot Noir, with its rich and ripe aromas and flavors of cherries, strawberries, and rose petal, but it’s a bit fuller-bodied. Still, the tannin here is fully ripe and rounded, and it is acidity that gives this wine its structure. One of the all-time great reds to enjoy with a big charcuterie spread, it’s also fantastic with lighter fare like poultry and salmon.
