Christian Tschida 'Kapitel I'

Christian Tschida is one of the greatest winemakers coming out of Austria, though he wouldn't refer to himself as that, as he is a self-described, 'transformer'. Based in Illmitz, within the larger Burgenland region, he works with multiple varietals including Weissburgunder, Gruner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Blaufrankisch, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc. He works with extreme attention to detail both in the vineyard and in the cellar, and also works with minimal intervention by not fining, filtering, or adding sulfur to any of his wines. 

His 'Kapitel I' is an unfined, unfiltered, no sulfur added blend of Cabernet Franc and Blaufrankisch. Energetic, precise, and deeply layered with berries, herbs, leafy green, and dusty spices. Every facet of his wines carry the meticulous nature of his farming and vinification, and this is right in line with that capability of expression.
