From a small family estate farming prime vineyard sites in Entre-Deux-Mers, this is honest, classically-styled Bordeaux with plenty of character and absolutely no excess makeup. Just clean, balanced, old-school wine that overdelivers for the price.
The blend is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and it drinks well above its humble price point. Moderately dense garnet with purple at the edge, it offers up pure aromas of dark cherry, damson plum, and faint spice. Round, supple, and medium-bodied on the palate, it finishes smooth and polished with just the barest touch of tannin. A perfect weeknight Bordeaux for burgers, roast chicken, or spaghetti and meatballs.
