Chai de la Dive Saumur Blanc Les Moulins
When Romain Guiberteau and Brendan Stater-West decide to start a new project, I pay attention. They teamed up with Romain's daughter, Camille Guiberteau, and her partner, Alex Crochet, to create Chai de la Dive, a négociant label focused on organically farmed Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc from top growers around Saumur. The wines are made and bottled at Domaine Guiberteau, but they're intended to be released earlier and enjoyed young.
This is classic Loire Chenin Blanc with loads of energy. Bright citrus, crisp pear, green apple, and chalky mineral notes are backed by mouthwatering acidity and a clean, refreshing finish. It's the sort of white that is equally at home with oysters, roast chicken, fresh goat cheese, or just a sunny afternoon on the porch.
