Federico Fernandez is the brother of Alejandro Fernandez, the guy who founded Pesquera and Condado de Haza, two estates that put Ribera del Duero on the map. We actually like Federico's wines better, and they cost a lot less. 100% Tempranillo aged for 8 months in American oak, this is a stellar bottle of wine, and it's about as traditional as Spanish red wine gets.
Eerily smelling like Silver Oak (I'm not kidding), this offers up hearty notes of ripe cherry, mulberry, blackberry, vanilla, and baking spices. Full yet plush and supple on the palate, it is one of the top Ribera del Duero values we've ever stocked.
