Terras Gauda Albarino 2022

Superb Albarino Value: 2024 Terras Gauda Abadia de San Campio

Albarino is having its moment right now. It has become a go-to white for many of our customers, and I totally get it. It's delicious, versatile, and one of the world's greatest seafood whites.

Terras Gauda Abadia de San Campio Albarino.

The 2024 Terras Gauda Abadia de San Campio Albarino is a truly remarkable rendition, and Wine Spectator recently rated it 91 points. As Albarino has grown in popularity, we've seen prices surge, much like we did with Sancerre over the past ten years. That's what makes this one really stand out at just $19.99...

I can't stress enough how unusual this price is for an Albarino of this caliber. These days, finding even a mediocre bottle under $20 isn't easy, but finding a 91-point Albarino for less than $20? Now that's a rarity worth getting excited about!

The Fonseca family has been farming Albarino vineyards in Rias Baixas, the grape's historic home in northwestern Spain, since the early 1990s. Their care and attention to detail are evident in this expressive bottling, which offers a little more richness and texture than many Albarinos while staying true to the grape's character.

Sunny notes of white peach, kiwi, citrus zest, and seaside minerality lead the way, with ripe fruit balanced by Albarino's hallmark brightness and mouthwatering acidity. Pour it with shrimp, flaky white fish, or a baguette with thin slices of Manchego to really make it sing.

Trust me, those bottles will be gone in no time.
