Domaine de Colette makes one of the great Beaujolais' values in the world! Made from their old vines in the Cru Villages of Morgon and Regnie, it's fresh and lively, but it also packs some serious depth of flavor.
Temperatures are rising, summer is going to be here soon, but do you really want to stop drinking red wine? No, of course you don't, and and this is that "Parisian Bistro Red" that's just bursting with flavors of fresh cherry, earthy spice, flowers, and granitic minerality.
Not too heavy or tannic, but certainly not light and washed-out, this is the kind of red we should all be drinking more of this time of year. We've got 84 bottles available at deal pricing, and our price is as good as you'll find anywhere in these parts : )

Here's a prime example of why the wines of Beaujolais are more popular than ever. Husband and wife Jacky and Evelyne Gauthier farm their old vines without any chemical sprays or fertilizers, and these naturally low-yielding vines give us a delicious Gamay that is ripe, sappy, juicy, and easy.
The Gauthiers always produce a wonderful Villages-Beaujolais, which is much more "serious" than a Beaujolais Nouveau, but the '23 vintage was especially strong for them. Stop by the shop, and we can discuss those fundamental differences with you, but for now, just understand that vintage and vine age matters immensely to the success of any Beaujolais.
Good news, Vintage 2023 was incredibly generous to the vignerons of Beaujolais, as the hot and dry conditions resulted in fuller and richer wines. Add to this equation the fact that the Gauthiers work with beautiful old vines, all of them 50 to 75 years old. This combination of virtues worked together to give this wine great concentration, but it's still fresh, juicy, and light on its feet.
Incredibly easy to drink, it flows with generous aromas and flavors of Bing cherry, fresh strawberry, damp earth, woodsy spice, and more. Despite its somewhat "serious" style, it's still so easy to drink, and that's my idea of the perfect wine.
Drink this tasty, family-made wine like the French do.....with just about everything or no food at all. From roast chicken and salmon to crusty baguette and charcuterie, it's versatile, but no food is needed. Chill this down a bit, and sip away to your heart's content!
