Vincent Roussely's gorgeous, old vine Gamay is a wine I find myself never tiring of. It's so fresh, and it has just the right level of earthy, Loire Valley funk to keep it interesting.

It also packs serious flavor and offers many of the same qualities of a more expensive Cru Beaujolais or village-level Red Burgundy. Roussely's Gamay pours a glistening ruby color and offers up engaging aromas and flavors of fresh raspberry, cherry, pink peppercorn, and damp earth. Silky and medium-bodied, it glides across the palate with bright acidity and virtually no tannin.
At just $14.99/bottle and over 20% off the regular price of $18.99, this chillable red is what you want in your glass tonight!
Vincent Roussely is the fourth generation of his family to tend vines in Touraine, in the heart of the Central Loire Valley. Farming organically and working with old vines, he crafts wines that clearly express the region's classic terroir, with that sense of place shining brightest in his Gamay.
He makes his wines at Clos Roussely, the castle his great-grandfather purchased in 1917 and converted into the family's winery. More than a century later, Vincent continues that tradition, producing his wines in a classic, minimal-intervention style that lets his vineyards do the talking.
I like this one with a light chill, and while it tastes great on its own, it's just as good served with classic French bistro dishes like pan-seared salmon or steak au poivre.
Grab some while it's on sale. You won't regret it!
