Prieure's Savigny-les-Beaune Blanc combines the rich and nutty opulence of Meursault with the floral and high-toned precision of Puligny Montrachet. I know this might sound like a stretch, but I just call it like I taste it.....and I drink a lot of White Burgundy :)
That opening statement will seem even more unbelievable when you see the price of this wine, but again, I stand firmly by my assessment. This third generation, certified organic, family-run estate has produced what I believe to be THE BEST White Burgundy VALUE of the wonderful 2022 vintage.

2022 Domaine du Prieure Savigny-les-Beaune Blanc -- Here's why you should buy it:
- I was straight up blown away when I tasted this last week. Spiced apple, baked pear, lemon oil, white flowers, hazelnut, marzipan, and more. This is full-bodied and rich yet totally balanced by the underlying acidity, minerality, and complexity.
- Coming from a 46-year-old plot of Chardonnay planted in rocky, limestone soils, you can smell and taste that old vine character with every sniff and sip of this wine.
- Fermented and aged in French oak (just 10% new), this would top a lot of much pricier Cote de Beaune White Burgs (Meursault, Puligny, Chassagne, and Saint Aubin) in a blind tasting.
- Being that white wine only accounts for 5% of production in Savigny-les-Beaune, just 400 cases were produced for the vintage. We were lucky to snag 7 of those precious cases.
