I had a glass of this the other night, and it stopped me in my tracks. When a wine grabs 98 points from the Wine Advocate, I certainly pay attention, but after nearly 30 years of buying, selling, and drinking wine, I trust my own palate first.

I can say with 100% certainty that the 2023 Corymbia Cabernet Sauvignon is the real deal. I also know that wine geeks and lovers worldwide are talking about this Margaret River producer and the majestic Cab they produced in the flawless 2023 vintage. We bought all 36 bottles that made their way to Western North Carolina, and we've got this on sale at an incredible price.
In the glass, this is pretty much perfection. Killer aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, and plum are complimented by complex and savory nuances of graphite, tobacco, dried herbs, and a subtle earthy nuance. On the palate, it has that rare combination of power and finesse, a classic trait of Margaret River Cabs. It’s drinking beautifully now with a couple of hours in the decanter, but there’s no question it’s got the bones to age. Drink now through 2045.
Corymbia is the project of husband and wife Rob and Genevieve Mann, and they are both veterans of Australia's Margaret River. If you ask me, it's one of the great Cabernet zones in the world, as the combination of maritime climate, ancient soils, and a long growing season give us Cabernets with power, detail, and balance. There's intensity without heaviness, structure without astringency, and zero reliance on oak or extraction to make a statement.
We don’t see wines of this caliber at this price very often, especially with this kind of critical backing, and with limited bottles to go around, this is one I wouldn’t wait too long to order. You have been warned : )
