Try 3 For Free Wine Tasting - West Coast Wines

Try 3 For Free Wine Tasting featuring some awesome West Coast wines from California and Oregon! Saturday, December 10th from 2-5pm. Just drop by, taste, learn and save on all of the tasting wines.

Join us this Saturday as we celebrate some top finds from our own West Coast. A string of warm, dry and sunny vintages has provided for some amazing wines, and we can’t wait to share some of our favorites with you. We’ll start with a richer styled, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc from the team at Jonata, Screaming Eagle’s sister winery. After that, we’ll check in on the 2014 Elk Cove Pinot Noir from Oregon’s Willamette Valley — we’ve had this one for several months now and it’s drinking better than ever. To wrap it up, you’ll get to sample a Tuscan-inspired red from California’s Central Coast — with Super Tuscan style at less than $20, it will fly out of the store. Don’t miss it!

Can’t make it by, but want to place an order? Just email us at josh@tablewineasheville.com.

1. 2013 The Paring Sauvignon Blanc (Sonoma County, California) – From the good folks at Jonata, Screaming Eagle’s sister winery, this is a wonderful Sauvignon Blanc inspired by the white wines of Bordeaux. With a little splash of Semillon and Viognier along with some barrel aging, it is fuller and richer in style with notes of white peach, lychee, lemon oil and white flowers. 90 points The Wine Advocate

2. 2014 Elk Cove Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley, Oregon) – In case you haven’t heard, Vintage 2014 in Oregon was a great one — Wine Spectator scored the vintage 97 points! When you add that to the fact that Elk Cove is one of the most respected veteran producers of the region, you have the formula for great wine. This is classic Elk Cove Pinot — richer and fuller in style, but with silky tannin, it offers up an incredible mix of ripe cherry, blueberry and plum fruit buttressed by more complex notes of spice, cedar and black tea. Perfect for drinking with grilled salmon, chicken or pork, it is also delicious with nothing more than a glass and a good friend.

3. 2011 Pietra Santa Sangiovese (Cienega Valley, California) – This one comes from California’s Central Coast and Pietra Santa blends in 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. You can taste it too! With ripe plum, black cherry, and toasty oak notes, this one reminds us of a modern styled Super Tuscan accented by more of the plush fruit of California.
