From one of the pioneering estates of Sancerre, the Bourgeois family are one of the qualitative leaders of the appellation. Their 'La Porte du Caillou' Sancerre utilizes grapes from all of their holdings, with some prime "stuff" from Chavignol included in the blend. The finished wine is sensational!
Exotic, concentrated, and powerfully mineralic, this offers up enticing notes of ripe citrus, Bosc pear, herb, and chalk. Balanced, harmonious, and long on the finish, the wine's natural acidity makes it a wonderful wine to pair with all sorts of fare. No food required though, this is is just a delightful white to sip when you want to be transported to France's gorgeous Loire River Valley.
