Domaine Gerard Fiou Sancerre 'Terroir Silex'

Florent Bourgeois owns a tiny estate in Saint-Satur, the closest village of the appellation to the Loire River. Bourgeois is one of just a few growers to based on this south-facing hillside, and the flinty terroir found here gives us some of the most mineralic Sancerres of any.

If you want to know what minerality the flint brings to the wine, just hit two rocks against each other and you’ll smell that deep gun powder note that is a hallmark of all top Loire Valley Sauvignon Blancs. In addition, there's lovely lemon verbena, lime, green tea, and freshly-cut herb notes as well. Really fantastic stuff!
