Vall Llach Priorat Embruix

Celler Vall Llach is located in the DOQ Priorat, just two hours south of Barcelona and only one hour inland from the Mediterranean Sea. Highly regarded for producing some of the most revered wines in Spain, Vall Llach is committed to protecting the local environment, traditional viticulture, and the Catalan language and culture for generations to come.

The estate's Embruix is their most popular wine, and for good reason -- it is a great intro to top-flight Priorat. Composed of grapes from multiple estate vineyards that are 30-years-old or younger. The grape varieties used are: Cariñena, Garnaxa, Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah. The vineyards are located across Porrera at varying altitudes and terrains, where exposure to sunlight comes from every point of the compass.

Embruix displays a ruby red color with a violet edge and deep, intense aromas of raspberry and blackberry, along with hints of licorice, graphite, spice, and fragrant herbs with over a dark mineral base. This red wine exhibits an enticing minerality, fine tannins and excellent acidity. Flavors of black fruit, mineral, garrigue, spice, and cocoa linger on the palate along with notes of balsamic, toast, and licorice.
