Bodegas Muga is one of Rioja's great family estates, founded in 1932 and still owned and operated by the Muga family today. Based in the historic Barrio de la Estación in Haro, the winery has built its reputation on traditional methods, including aging wines in their own cooperage's handcrafted oak barrels. The El Andén project highlights high-elevation vineyards in Rioja, where cooler temperatures and poor soils yield grapes of exceptional freshness and character.

The El Andén Crianza is primarily Tempranillo with small amounts of Garnacha and Mazuelo, aged in a combination of French and American oak. Rich aromas and flavors of black cherry, plum, blackberry, vanilla, spice, tobacco, and cedar lead into a smooth, balanced palate with fine tannins and a long finish. Classic Rioja through and through, this is a versatile red that shines alongside grilled meats, roast chicken, burgers, and hearty pasta dishes.
