Apollo’s Praise Winery is the passionate endeavor of celebrated Finger Lakes winemakers Kelby James Russell and Julia Rose Hoyle. They share a vision to one day be the shepherds of their own piece of terroir in the region Kelby was born and raised and Julia has now called home for many years.
The couple made a whopping 150 case of Gruner Veltliner from the highly-regarded, sandstone-soiled Lahoma Vineyard in 2024. It is a wonderful white with a plump and pleasant texture, nervy acidity, and flavors of citrus, tropical fruits, white pepper, green herbs, and salty minerality.
James Suckling - 94 points - "What a bright and expressive medium-bodied gruner veltliner. It shows grapefruit, green peppercorn and fresh sage aromas. Zesty and energetic, it has some creaminess from lees contact, but the freshness pushes this into the background. Long, stony and herbal finish."
