In 1997, Pierre-Emanuel Sangourd settled on the family farm, then held by his grandfather. In 1200 he took over the estate vineyards Guyot, the parents of his wife and Sangourd-Guyot area forms.
This Pouilly-Fuisse is made from one of the estate's oldest and best plots in Vergisson. From a tiny plot of south-facing vines planted on clay-limestone soils, it is quite rich, structured, and opulent. Beautiful stuff!
'Subtle but not invisible wood sets off mildly exotic aromas of white peach, lychee, dried apricot and anise. Here too the medium-bodied flavors possess a sleek mouthfeel while culminating in moderately austere and bone-dry finale that is compact, balanced and solidly persistent.
