Saturday, February 11th from 2-5pm — Valentine’s Day comes early as we’ll share the “Lafage Love” with you with a tasting featuring 100% Jean-Marc Lafage wines!
Jean-Marc Lafage is regarded as on of the best winemakers in Southern France. As Jeb Dunnuck of The Wine Advocate says, when “it comes to quality-to-price ratios, no one does it better than proprietor Jean Marc Lafage.” Join us as we pour you a trio of 90+ pointers all crafted by Monsieur Lafage. We’ll start with a new white wine that is a classic blend of Mediterranean varietals — highly aromatic, super attractive, and absolutely delicious, this one will have you dreaming about warm and sunny spring days. Up next is the new vintage of Jean-Marc’s old vine Carignan — it is simply one of the greatest red wine values on the planet. Last, but not least, you’ll get to sample the new vintage of the Tessellae GSM — that means Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and this juicy, spicy, fruit forward red is performing incredibly well in this vintage. Stop by, taste, learn and save on some incredible values this Saturday.

1. 2015 Domaine Lafage Miraflors Blanc (Roussillon, France) – “A blend of close to equal parts Vermentino, Viognier, Muscat and Grenache Gris that was raised all in tank (with plenty of lees contact), it offers exotic aromas and flavors of mint, citrus peel and lemon to go with a medium-bodied, bright, fresh style on the palate that’s ideal for a hot summer day.” — Jeb Dunnuck — The Wine Advocate — 90 points
2. 2014 Domaine Lafage Tessellae Carignan Vieilles Vignes (Roussillon, France) – One of Lafage’s greatest values, his old vine Carignan Cuvée comes from a 70 year old plot of vines in Maury, near the Spanish border. Dunnuck calls it a “crazy value” and says “is one of the best examples of this variety from the Roussillon.” He goes on to describe it as offering “tons of black raspberry and black cherry fruit, licorice and dried spices to go with a super sexy, heady, seamless style on the palate that keeps you coming back to the glass.” — Jeb Dunnuck — The Wine Advocate – 92 points
3. 2014 Domaine Lafage Tessellae GSM Vieilles Vignes (Languedoc-Roussillon, France) – Can this man do no wrong?! Here’s another highly rated wine that comes to you at an absurd price! “A stunning bargain from Lafage is the 2014 Tessellae Old Vines, a blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre, all aged in concrete. A delicious, dense ruby wine with notes of red and black cherries, earth, spice, pepper and a touch of Provençal garrigue. Fresh vibrant acidity is also present, and the wine is uncomplicated, but rich, fleshy and very well balanced.” — Jeb Dunnuck — The Wine Advocate — 90 points
