Syrah and Friends Wine Tasting at Table Wine in Asheville, NC.

Try 3 For Free Wine Tasting - Syrah and Friends

Saturday, January 21 from 2-5pm — Try 3 For Free Wine Tasting featuring the McPrice Myers Right Hand Man Syrah and two of Syrah’s best friends, Grenache and Viognier!

We are huge fans of Syrah in all of its various styles. We are also fond of Syrah’s typical blending partners. Join us Saturday for an adventure with Syrah and Friends, and learn more about the grape and its common companions. We’ll start with a delicious, aromatic Viognier — yes, that’s a white grape! Often blended in small amounts with Syrah to add aromatics and rounder texture, it’s also great as a stand-alone wine. Next up, you’ll taste a pure Grenache, one of Syrah’s best friends in blends from the Southern Rhone and elsewhere. To finish up, you’ll get to taste our new Wine of the Week, a Syrah-heavy red that is absolutely delicious. Stop by, taste, learn, and save! Can’t make it by, but want to place an order? Just email us at josh@tablewineasheville.com.

Save big on all of the tasting wines! Mix any 3 of them and save 10%, mix any 6 and save 15%, or mix any 12 and save 20%!

1. 2015 Le Paradou Viognier (Languedoc, France) – In our estimation, this is the best Viognier for the money in the marketplace. From organic and sustainably farmed vineyards located in various parts of Southern France, it shows the grape’s tell-tale aromatic qualities, but remains fresh and crisp on the palate. Look for notes of peach, melon, citrus and honeysuckle.

2. 2015 Belle Provencale Rouge (Cotes du Ventoux, France) – Belle Provencale is made by the Perrin family, who also make Chateau Beaucastel, one of the prized wines of Chateauneuf du Pape. Almost entirely Grenache, with bits of Syrah and Carignan, it offers up ripe and juicy notes of cherry, plum, peppery spice and Provencal herbs. Soft, low in tannin, and completely chuggable, this makes for a great easy drinking house wine.

3. 2013 McPrice Myers Right Hand Man Syrah (Central Coast, California) – It’s our Wine of the Week and it’s awesome! From one of the hottest young producers in California, this is their Syrah-heavy red blend. It contains a splash of Petite Sirah and Viognier and the finished wine is rich, plush, sexy. Stop by and taste what we’re talking about.
