This Friday (7/24) from 2-7 p.m. and Saturday (7/25) from 2-5 p.m. — The two best free wine tastings in Asheville!!! We are the only store in Asheville to offer two free wine tastings every weekend, and we’d like to invite all Asheville wine lovers to stop by, taste, learn, and save up to 20% every weekend.
First up, stop by any time between 2-7 p.m. this Friday, July 24th to sample a great lineup of wines from Oregon. Up first, the 2014 Solena Pinot Gris is ripe, round, and pretty rich for this varietal with a nice mix of apricot, nectarine, and honeysuckle notes. Up next, the 2013 Grochau Cellars Pinot Noir “Commuter Cuvee” is a light, feminine styled Pinot Noir laced with notes of snappy red cherry, raspberry, cranberry, and light earth notes. It would make a perfect partner to grilled wild salmon or tuna steaks, but it also is a great stand alone wine for the summer heat. We’ll finish up with our Wine of the Week (click here to learn more), the 2012 Solena Pinot Noir Grand Cuvee, a 92 point rated wine from a vintage that was considered pretty much perfect in Oregon’s Willamette Valley.
We’ll be pouring some more wines on Saturday, July 25th, and you can swing by any time between 2-5 p.m. to test them out. It’s a bit of a “complicated” wine tasting, so we can’t really explain it with written words so you’ll just have to stop by. We’ll tell you that the producer is one of California’s newest and hottest, and it was started by a couple of guys whose families roots run deep in the state’s wine trade. Stop by and see and taste wines from a producer who we think will be the next big thing in California!
