Taste, learn, and save every Friday at Table Wine!
First up, the 2013 Pullus Sauvignon Blanc is made by the oldest winery in Slovenia, and it’s a straight up thirst quenching, varietally true rendition of the grape. Lime, exotic tropical fruits, and green herbs flow through this zesty-dry white wine. Next up, the 2013 Pullus Pinot Grigio is totally cool! Fermented in contact with the grayish/pinkish skin of the grape, it comes out a light cooper/salmon color and offers up gorgeous notes of ripe fruit paired with refreshing acidity. After that, the 2014 Domaine Sainte Lucie MIP Rosé is exquisite this year. Talk about a pink wine you could drink all day, this one explodes out of the glass with exotic notes of watermelon, white peach, white flowers and cream.
Moving on to the reds, the 2013 Les Vignerons d’Estezargues Cotes du Rhone “Les Grandes Vignes” is from one of the leading organic/biodynamic/natural wine cooperatives in the world. Their red is 100% old vine Cinsault and it’s Southern France in a glass — pungent herbs (rosemary, lavender, thyme, etc.), flowers, and tangy red fruits inform the nose and palate of this lively natural wine. We’ll finish with the 2012 Rosa del Golfo Scaliere, a blend of 90% Negroamaro and 10% Agliancio from the Salento Peninsula in Southern Italy. Full bodied yet fresh and invigorating, it exudes lovely notes of ripe red berries, flowers, and earthy spices.
