Friday Wine Down - New Arrivals From South America

This Friday, March 21st from 4 to 7 p.m. — $5/person…..Free for Grape Nuts — Join us this and every Friday for a Friday Wine Down; that’s fancy talk for a wine tasting! It’s the perfect way to end your work week and get your week end off to a good start. This week, we’re pouring you a dazzling array of new wines from Chile and Argentina. Both countries have been in the wine game for centuries, but real-deal quality wines didn’t really enter the picture until the mid to late 1980’s. These days, both countries enjoy thriving wine cultures at home, and exceptional export markets abroad. Join us as we delight your palates with some delicious whites and reds from both countries this Friday.

First up is a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc that will make you think of New Zealand with its notes of grapefruit and melon. After that, we’ll pour you Argentina’s benchmark Torrontes, and this one is about as exotic as they come. Then it’s on to the reds, beginning with a soft and juicy Chilean Cab that drinks well with or without food. Next up is a single vineyard, super classy Malbec brimming with classic warm fruit and spice and we’ll finish up with a blockbuster of a Syrah made by one of Argentina’s greatest winemakers. If this doesn’t sound like fun to you, stay home. If it does, and it should, then stop by, taste and learn about wine one sip at a time.
