Saturday, April 7th from 2-5pm – It’s Asheville’s best free wine tasting, and we’re pouring a trio of top Spanish white wines. Stop by any time between 2-5pm. We’ve got plenty of free parking!
Spanish white wines rarely get the respect they deserve. Everyone gushes over the reds from Rioja, Priorat, and Ribera del Duero, but they often write off the whites. Not me! In fact, I’m finding myself drinking more and more of Spain’s indigenous white grapes. And nationally recognized, North Carolina-based importer Andre Tamers of De Maison Selections brings in some of my favorites. Join us to taste and learn about grapes like Godello, Viura, and Hondarribi Zuri. It’s going to be fun, and all you have to do is stop by. Taste, learn, and save every Saturday at Table Wine.
All of the featured tasting wines are being offered at 20% off by the bottle on tasting day! To take advantage of the savings, all sales must be tendered by the end of business on Saturday, April 7th.
Can’t make it, but want to take advantage of the savings? Just call us at 828.505.8588 to place your order, and we can run your credit card over the phone.
1. 2017 Ameztoi Txakolina (Basque Region, Spain) – Talk about a wine that snaps, crackles, and pops! 100% Hondarribi Zuri from a mixture of vines planted between 1918 and 2008, this light and crisp wine is bottled with a little bit of residual carbon dioxide to give it its signature natural spritz. Fresh and crushable, it offers up hard-to-resist notes of lime, lemon, sea spray, and joy!
2. 2017 Garciarevalo Casamaro Blanco (Rueda, Spain) – Rueda, in Central Spain, is one of the country’s top white wine zones. It is here that producers first started experimenting with stainless steel fermentations. And Garciarevalo was at the forefront of that movement. Their Casamaro is 100% Verdejo from vines ranging in age from 15 to 145 years! 100% free run juice, this fresh and mineralic white wine is a great alternative to Sauvignon Blanc.
3. 2016 A Coroa Godello (Valdeorras, Spain) – What an outstanding and complete white wine from Angel Lopez! For years, he and his family worked in the nursery business, supplying a majority of the region’s wineries with their vines. Today, they make one of Spain’s top Godellos — taste it, and you’ll see what I’m talking about. From 20+ year old vines, this one is fermented in stainless steel and aged on its lees for 6 months. Offering up an enticing nose of flowers, ripe peach, herb, and fennel notes, it is fresh, structured, and flavorful on the palate. Enjoy!
