1. Domaine Rolet Crémant du Jura (Jura, France)
Better than many Champagnes and half the price!
2. 2016 Arios Loureiro (Vinho Verde, Portugal)
Exotic, aromatic, zesty, and laced with notes of kaffir lime, citrus zest, and tropical fruits.
3. 2014 Vincent Raimbault Vouvray Sec “Bel Air” (Loire Valley, France)
Dry Chenin Blanc, with it’s honeyed fruit and zingy acidity, balances richness with freshness.
4. 2015 Hermann Moser Gruner Veltliner (Kremstal, Austria)
With it’s mixture of ripe citrus and orchard fruits, white pepper notes, and lifted acidity, this is ideal for turkey or ham.
5. 2016 La Cave de Prieure Marestel (Savoie, France)
Based entirely on Savoie’s native Roussette (aka Altesse) variety, this rich and exotic white wine is going to make heads spin.
6. 2015 Poco a Poco Chardonnay (Mendocino County, California)
This is just picture-perfect California Chardonnay. There’s rich and ripe fruit, but there’s great acidity giving the wine lift and cut. From the fine folks at Porter-Bass Winery.
7. 2016 Domaine J. Mourat Collection Rouge
Fun and juicy blend of Pinot Noin, Negrette, Gamay, and Cabernet Franc. Ripe cherry, crunchy berry, earth and spice.
8. 2016 Pascal & Annick Quénard Gamay (Savoie, France)
No Thanksgiving is complete without Gamay! But this one isn’t from Beaujolais — it’s from Savoie, where you get more of a tart and tangy red. It literally tastes like just-picked cherry and cranberry.
9. 2014 Ludi Neiss Spatburgunder (Pfalz, Germany)
Holy smokes, this tastes like really good Burgundy, but costs way less. Beautiful, elegant, complex Pinot Noir.
10. 2014 Poco a Poco Pinot Noir (Mendocino County, California)
Luke Bass has the midas touch with Pinot Noir, and this is an exceptional example. Very, very fine!
11. 2016 Syncline Subduction Red Blend (Columbia Valley, Washington)
This Rhone-inspired red from one of Washington’s blue chip producers is rich, ripe, juicy and spicy.
12. 2014 Porter Bass Zinfandel “Dot’s Garden” (Russian River Valley, California)
For those who prefer more of a “large and in charge” red for the meal, here you go! Stunning Zinfandel from an old, biodynamically farmed vineyard in the heart of the Russian River Valley.
