Free Wine Tasting - Great Value Wines - Saturday, May 25th., 2013 - 2:00 to 5:00 pm

Join us each and every Saturday at our tasting bar to sample a great batch of “Tuesday Night Wines”. These are delicious and affordable and perfect for drinking any night of the week with or without food. We’re here to help you learn and understand wine, not to intimidate you, so leave your worries and insecurities at the door!

This Saturday, we’re going to pour some great new arrivals to the store including two whites and two reds. We’ll start with beautifully fresh and clean white wine from Savoie, France before we pour you an over-the-top, butter bomb Chardonnay from California. For the reds, we’ll start with a luscious and easy to drink Cotes du Rhone followed by a layered, fantastic, Tempranillo-based blend from California.

The Wines You’ll Get To Try!

1. 2012 Eugene Carrel Jongieux (Savoie, France) – The Jongiuex region of Savoie is located in eastern France, not that far from Geneva Switzerland, and many of the wines produced here don’t make it out of France. Luckily, a few do including this one based on the region’s native Jacquere grape. Light, fragrant and gently spicy, this is Alpine influenced white wine that goes down super easy.

2. 2011 Butternut Chardonnay (Various Regions, California) – This is one of those wines that truly lives up to its name. It’s buttery, creamy, overt and rich with ripe peach, spiced apple and ample toasty oak.

3. 2011 Paul Autard Cotes du Rhone (Southern Rhone Valley, France) – One surefire way to get a lot of wine for your money is to buy the Cotes du Rhone from a highly acclaimed Chateauneuf du Pape producer and Paul Autard is just that. His Cotes du Rhone always over delivers and the 2011 is no exception. Medium to full bodied, glycerol and lushly fruited, it is great wine for not a lot of dollars.

4. 2008 Matchbook Tinto Rey (Dunnigan Hills, California) – The Guigiere family do a marvelous job with Spanish varietals and their Tinto Rey is a blend of primarily Tempranillo, with smaller amounts of Syrah, Cab and Graciano. It is a smooth, moderately complex and spicy red wine that goes down oh-so easy.
