This Saturday, we’ll have some dazzling new Southern French wines open for you to “try before you buy.” All of the wines are chosen and brought into the U.S. by Roy Cloud of Vintage 59 Imports. Based out of Washington, D.C., Roy has an impeccable palate and a knack for finding truly artisanal wines at affordable prices. We’re proud to carry these wines, and we can’t wait for you to try them.
We’ll start with the 2013 Chateau Coupe Roses Minervois Blanc “Champ du Roy,” an intensely aromatic and delicious blend of Vigonier, Muscat, Marsanne and Grenache Blanc from the southern part of France. It will delight you with its flavors of peach, apricot, flowers and basil oil. Next up, the 2012 Closerie des Lys Rouge is one of our new favorites. A blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, this pure and unbridled red wine is a classic bistro-styled red that sells for a song. And to finish things up, the 2012 Coupe Roses Minervois “Cuvée des Vignals” is a blend of old vine Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan. Moderately rich, spicy and flowing with brambly berries, it’s an engaging wine that offers you a pure taste of Southern France at a great price.
