Saturday, March 24th from 2-5pm – Join us this Friday for a free wine tasting where we’ll pour you the pure and delicious wines of California’s Hobo Wine Company. Just stop by — we’ve got plenty of free parking.
Hobo Wine Company was founded by Healdsburg-born Kenny Likitprakong in 2002. In addition to having a passion for beautifully balanced and pure, site-specific wines, he’s also an avid surfer, skateboarder, and skier. He spent many years living life like a hobo catching great waves, skating the best parks, and skiing the fluffiest powder; thus the name of his operation. These days, Kenny still lives the life of a hobo……sort of. He doesn’t own any vineyards or a winery. Instead, he travels the back roads of California, looking for unique and distinctive vineyards to make his wines. He’s been at it for 16 years, so something is obviously working. Stop by this Friday, and I’ll tell you more. I’ll pour you some of Kenny’s wines too! Taste, learn, save every Friday at Table Wine!
All of the featured tasting wines are being offered at 20% off by the bottle on tasting day! To take advantage of the savings, all sales must be tendered by the end of business on Saturday, March 24th.

1. 2017 Camp Chardonnay (Sonoma County, California) – I love the style of this Chardonnay that comes from an assortment of single vineyards scattered throughout Sonoma County. Made primarily with grapes from Lloyd’s vineyard in Alexander Valley, the wine is fermented in stainless steel and aged very briefly in neutral oak. There’s a wonderful balance of ripe, golden, orchard fruit with tart and zesty citrus. Delicious!
2. 2016 Camp Merlot (Sonoma County, California) – When Kenny is describing wine, he can be somewhat understated — he refers to this Merlot as “straight forward, but somewhat serious.” I think it’s an apt description, but I will expand on it a bit! From two organically farmed vineyards in Alexander Valley and the Sonoma Valley, this very lightly oaked Merlot is gorgeous. Like the Chardonnay, it balances richness with freshness in an effortless manner.
3. 2016 Hobo Wine Company Cabernet Sauvignon (Alexander Valley, California) – I nearly dropped my glass when I smelled and tasted this one recently. I was overwhelmed with joy and excitement! As Kenny says, “this wine was produced more like a Pinot Noir than a Cabernet Sauvignon.” Yep! Just 12.9% alcohol, this one exudes aromas and flavors of ripe dark currant, cherry, pepper, and earthy spice. The texture is marvelous, with silky tannins and perky acidity. Bravo Kenny!
