Join us this Saturday, December 7th anytime between 2 and 5 p.m. as Mike Tiano from the Haw River Wine Man joins us to pour some delicious and affordable Italian classics. Many of you have met Mike and know that he is very well versed in Italian wines. He is one of the owners of Haw River Wine Man, and he travels to Italy a couple of times a year to find new and exciting wines. This Saturday, he’ll take you on a tour of Italy via the country’s rich and diverse variety of wines. To start things off, we’ll pour you a fresh and melony Trebbiano from the Adriatic Coast. Next up, we’ll hit you with a Cococciola, one of Italy’s indigenous whites that offers up beautiful, peachy and herbal aromas and flavors. We’ll finish with a couple of reds from Tuscany, including the juicy-fresh Coppaia from Chianti producer Casabianca and the new vintage of their Chianti, which is the best we’ve tasted to date.
It’s gonna’ be fun, it’s gonna’ be informative, and it’s gonna’ be delicious. Always be tasting, always be learning, and always be empowering yourself when it comes to wine. That’s our motto and our philosophy at Table Wine, and we invite you to make it yours as well! See you Saturday.
The Wines
10% off by the bottle, 15% off if you mix any six tasting wines
1. 2012 La Meriggia Trebbiano d’Abruzzo
Light, dry, fresh and packed with apple, melon and mixed citrus fruit aromas and flavors, this thirst quenching white wine makes for a great after work quaffer.
2. 2012 Cantina Frentana Cococciola
Here’s something you don’t try every day. The Cococciola grape is believed to be peculiar to the Rocco San Giovanni region of Abruzzo. It produces a beautifully aromatic, dry white wine with notes of melon, pear, apple and herbs.
3. 2011 Casabianca Coppaia Rosso Toscana
This “Little Tuscan”, as opposed to a Super Tuscan, blends Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon to create a juicy red wine bursting with fresh cherry and berry notes.
4. 2012 Casabianca Chianti Colli Senesi
This is really attractive wine! Silky smooth and elegant, it bursts out of the glass with ripe cherry, plum and spice notes. It’s begging you to buy it and take it home to serve with your spaghetti and meatballs dinner!
