The staff at Table Wine are excited to share this incredible piece of writing, a poem we composed to bring you holiday cheer and to invite you to a free wine tasting taking place this Saturday, December 21st from 2-5 p.m.
It’s guaranteed to bring you all sorts of pleasures, but please don’t be too hard on us, we’re better at picking wine treasures.
It’s the Saturday before Christmas and all throughout town, with shopping a frenzy, it’s time to “wine down.”
That’s where we step in, let the tasting begin.
We’ll pop the reds early, the whites will be chilled, a Table Wine tasting, aren’t you thrilled?
So grab your honey and bring a friend, don’t wait too long, at five it will end.
The Wines
1. Col Mesian Spumante Extra Dry: This Prosecco lookalike blends Chardonnay with Garganega to create a zesty, round and fresh sparkling wine. Though fruity, in a tropical way, this one remains fresh and pretty much dry.
2. 2012 Selbach Riesling “Incline”: Johannes Selbach is one of Germany’s masters of Riesling, and the name of this wine refers to the steep slopes that these grapes come from. Lightly sweet, but boasting racy acidity, this one pops out of the bottle with fresh lime, peach, and mineral notes.
3. 2012 Meiomi Pinot Noir: Many of you know it and love it, and we love selling it to you. This is a bold Pinot Noir marked by ripe and succulent strawberry and raspberry fruit along with notes of vanilla, clove and allspice.
4. 2011 Pico Maccario Barbera d’Asti “Lavignone”: Barbera specialist Pico Maccario has knocked it out of the park with his 2011 single vineyard Barbera. Named one of the Top 100 value wines in the world by Wine Spectator, if is supple and smooth with nice ripeness to the black cherry and strawberry fruit.
5. 2012 Domaine Amido Cotes du Rhone: Ben and I have determined that this wine just keeps getting better and better. Full, warm, rich and spicy, it coats the palate with savory black cherry, raspberry and kirsch fruit. Even better, it’s on sale and can be had for as low as $11.99/bottle (when you buy 6 or more)!
6. 2011 Louis Martini Cabernet Sauvignon: This is the Sonoma bottling and Robert Parker just called this “the best Cabernet Sauvignon in the world for less than $17.” We’re way below $17, and we think it’s one heckuva’ wine for the price.
7. Surprise Wine: We promise you this is going to be a really, really special treat. It’s a red with plenty of body and a flavor that will make your head spin. We’ll open one and only one bottle, so get here early or forever hold your peace!
