Free on Fridays Wine Tasting - What to Drink and What to Wear

Friday, June 16th from 4-7 pm – Join us on Friday for a free wine tasting as we welcome Elizabeth Roth and our friends from India Hicks. They are popping-up with an exclusive look at the summer collection of accessories and jewelry from the British designer also known as the goddaughter of Prince Charles and the daughter of famed interior designer David Hicks. Curious? You can take a peek by clicking here or you can stop by the store this Friday.

If you decide to purchase any of their high quality goods, India Hicks will donate 20% of the proceeds back to BB’s Buddies. Formed by our good friend Robin Boylan in honor of his wife Barbara, who is stricken with this horrible disease, BB’s Buddies is donates all of the money they raise to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. In addition, I have selected 4 classic spring and summer wines that fit perfectly in their Baby Biscayne bag. Actually, the bag holds 8 bottles of wine! Stop by, meet the India Hicks team, check out their wares, and taste some delicious wines.

All of the featured tasting wines are on sale the day of the tasting: take 10% off if you mix any 3, 15% off if you mix any 6, or 20% off if you mix any 12.

1. 2016 Domaine Dupeuble Beaujolais Blanc (Beaujolais, Blanc) – For those who think they don’t like Chardonnay, wait until you try this! This un-oaked version comes from a wonderful family owned estate that is over 500 years old. Full bodied and creamy, yet pure and refreshing, this one offers up notes of golden apple, pear and spice.

2. 2016 Domaine des Diables “Bonbon” Rosé (Provence, France): If you were a fan of the MIP rosé last year, you are going to lose your mind when you taste this one. From the same estate that makes the MIP, I opted for this one this year because it is amazing. One of the most intensely aromatic rosés I’ve ever encountered, this one smells and tastes of carmelized grapefruit, gooseberry, mixed red fruits, and pungent green herbs. Full bodied and creamy in texture, it’s a perfect pick for the summer.

3. 2014 Ampeleia Unlitro (Tuscany, Italy) – This biodynamic/organic red wine from Tuscany is made by the super talented Elisabetta Foradori. The blend is Grenache and Mourvedre which thrive in the warm and sunny conditions of Tuscany. Fresh, juicy, charming and joyful to drink, this is a great one for fans of Beaujolais and Pinot Noir. Even better, it comes in a liter bottle giving you an extra 1/3 of a bottle!

4. 2015 Bodegas Volver Paso a Paso Tempranillo (La Mancha, Spain) – Talk about a screaming value! This 90 point rated red from Central Spain is ridiculously delicious and it’s less than $10. Ripe and flowing with rich berry fruit, sweet spices, and supple tannin, I challenge you to find a better red wine for the money.
