Friday, September 1st from 4-7pm – Get your September and your weekend off to a great start with a free wine tasting starring some remarkable wine values from near and far. It’s Asheville’s best free wine tasting, and you are cordially invited. Bring a friend!
I take great pride in all of the wines we select for the store. Yeah, we’ve got plenty of premium offerings, but I’m most proud of our unique and extensive selection of value wines. In case you didn’t know, the store stocks over 150 wines that sell for less than $15 per bottle. And we taste every single one of them every single vintage to make sure the quality is up to our standards. Join us this Friday to sample three of our favorite values. Up first, the Vallevo Chardonnay from Italy’s Abruzzo region is a lovely and crisp example of pure, un-oaked Chardonnay perfect for everyday drinking. Next in the lineup, the Gerberas Garnacha hails from Spain’s Aragon region, the genetic birthplace of Grenache. For less than $10/bottle, you won’t find a better value in full bodied, richly fruited, and roundly textured red wine. To finish, the Paris Valley Road Heritage Red is one of our newest finds and you’re going to love this one. A full bodied, rich and polished blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Merlot, this one offers a ton of pleasure at a great price. Did I mention that all three of these wines retail for less than $12? Stop by, taste, learn, and save big on all of the featured tasting wines!
The Wines
Save big on all of the tasting wines! Mix any 3 of them and save 10%, mix any 6 and save 15%, or mix any 12 and save 20%!
1. 2016 Vallevo Chardonnay (Abruzzo, Italy) – You’ll be hard pressed to find a better no-oak Chardonnay for under $10 than this one. Vallevo puts out several great values that grace our shelves (they’re the same ones who make that Pecorino that so many of you love), and this is always pure, juicy, Chardonnay goodness. Flowing with ripe apple, pear, melon, and light floral nuances, it’s dry, crisp, and refreshing………and cheap!
2. 2016 Gerberas Garnacha (Aragon, Spain) – I was blown away by this wine when I had it this past weekend with a good old cheeseburger. Pure Garnacha from 30 year old vines, it is fermented in stainless steel. The resulting wine is fat, plush, juicy and delicious. It is one of my top under-$10 red wine picks in the store!
3. 2013 Paris Valley Road Heritage Red Wine (Various Regions, California) – I honestly don’t know how this wine can sell for less than $12! It’s all estate fruit from vineyards just north of Paso Robles, it’s aged in real French and American oak barrels, and it’s awesome! A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Zinfandel and the balance in Syrah, Petite Sirah and Merlot, it offers up loads of ripe dark fruit along with subtle notions of fig, espresso, chocolate and spice. Trust me, you’re going to dig it!
