The Wines
1. 2014 Ferraton Pere et Fils Cotes du Rhone Blanc “Samorens” (Southern Rhone) – “Falling under the Chapoutier umbrella, the quality at this tiny estate continues to soar. Readers looking for solid bang for the buck, as well as classic, textbook characters from each of the appellations, need to check out these wines.” That is what the Wine Advocate had to say about this biodynamic/organic producer. Their white combines Grenache Blanc with Clairette and Viognier to create a fresh, dry, beautifully aromatic white wine. 88 points The Wine Advocate
2. 2014 Domaine Brunet Pinot Noir (Limoux) – This is our new Case of the Month Selection, and it is an incredible value in high quality Pinot Noir. From vineyards in Southern France’s cooler, Atlantic influenced Limoux zone, this offers up all of the goodness of a $20 regional Bourgogne at a fraction of the price. Light to medium bodied and flowing with red fruit and spice aromas and flavors, this silky smooth Pinot is the best value of its type at the store.
3. 2014 Ferraton Pere et Fils Cotes du Rhone Rouge “Samorens” (Southern Rhone) – “Offering lots to love, the 2014 Côtes du Rhône Samorens has lots of pepper and dark berry fruit to go with a medium to full-bodied, rich, nicely textured and mouth-filling style on the palate.” This is what Jeb Dunnuck of The Wine Advocate had to say about this wine and we think he pretty much nailed it. This is just delicious organic red wine from a great, quality minded producer. 88 points The Wine Advocate
