The Wines
Prices range from $13 to $20
1. 2013 Vignerons de Buxy Coteaux Bourguignons (Burgundy, France): This is a staff favorite and one of Josh’s go-to house wines. A blend of mainly Pinot Noir with a splash of Gamay, it is pure, light, juicy, pure drinking pleasure. Serve it slightly chilled and let the chugging commence!
2. 2012 Visintini Rosso Palmira (Friuli, Italy): This certified organic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Schioppettino is quite charming. Wait, isn’t this supposed to be a lighter reds tasting? Trust us, we didn’t veer off course here! Fermented all in stainless steel, this simple, juicy red is bursting with all sorts of ripe fruit. In fact, it kind of drinks like a really good French Beaujolais…………sort of.
3. 2013 La Grange de Piaugier Cotes du Rhone (Southern Rhone Valley, France): What better red to start off with than our Red Wine of the Week?! It’s a winning combination of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and a few other grapes thrown in for good measure. Not too heavy, but by no means wimpy, this fresh and vibrant red pulsates with juicy red fruit, spice and herbs.
