Friday, March 10th from 4-7pm – Stop by the store (directions here) to sample the wine’s of South Africa’s Excelsior Estate, one of the greatest value brands in the world. Try their crisp Sauvignon Blanc, their balanced Chardonnay, and their rock star Cabernet Sauvignon (our new Case of the Month) for free.
You won’t believe the quality to price ratio on these wines! Excelsior Estate is an intriguing blend of vineyards and horses. The fourth and fifth generations of the De Wet family currently farm the land of their ancestors and continue an equine tradition dating back over a century. The estate turns out classically styled whites and lush, supple reds, and gives tribute to its horse-breeding origins with an equine-themed label. We have been big fans of the wines since we opened in 2010, and we think you’ll find that all of the wines over-perform in a big way. Up first, the estate’s Sauvignon Blanc is fresh, zippy, and laced with a range of citrus and tropical fruit notes. Up next, Excelsior’s Chardonnay is pretty much impossible to beat for the price — rich, yet balanced with just a kiss of oak, it is a real palate pleaser. To finish, their 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is hands down the best under-$10 Cab we’ve ever tasted. Stop by, taste the wines, learn, and save big on all of the wines.
