Free Domaine Lafage Wine Tasting - Saturday, November 25th

Saturday, November 25th from 2-5pm – Stop by Table Wine this Saturday for a free Domaine Lafage Wine Tasting. Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage craft some of the world’s greatest wine values, and this is your chance to try two of their best.

Husband and wife Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage own and work in the vineyards of Roussillon, in the Catalane region of Southern France. How they are able to make such incredibly tasty wines that sell for a song is a mystery to me. They work with old vines, farm organically, and create their wines is a pure and pleasure-bent style. Join us to sample their 92-point-rated Novellum Chardonnay as well as their 94-point-rated Bastide Miraflors Vieilles Vignes. Stop by, taste, learn, stock up, and save big on the tasting wines.

All of the featured tasting wines are being offered at 20% off by the bottle on tasting day! All sales must be tendered by the end of business on Saturday unless other arrangements are made.

1. 2016 Domaine Lafage Novellum Chardonnay (Roussillon, France) – This easily qualifies as one of the best Chardonnay values in the world and it’s our current Case of the Month! The Wine Advocate says, “A sensational wine that will compete with wines five times the price, the 2016 Novellum Chardonnay is the real deal and actually reminded me of a Chardonnay from Mark Aubert in California’s Sonoma County. White peach, crushed rocks, spice and brioche notes all emerge from this medium to full-bodied Chardonnay that has depth, layered texture and length. Buy it.” – Jeb Dunnuck – 92 points

2. 2015 Domaine Lafage Bastide Miraflors Vieilles Vignes (Roussillon, France) – Could this be the red wine deal of the year? I say yes, and this one is our current Wine of the Week. The Wine Advocate’s Jeb Dunnuck said, “This wine is almost too good to be true. A blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache that was brought up in concrete tanks (Grenache) and demi-muids (Syrah), the 2015 Bastide Miraflors Vieilles Vignes reminded me of a mini Syrah from California’s Manfred Krankl (yes I just compared a $14 Syrah to Sine Qua Non). It’s a ripe, sexy, heady beauty that exhibits a deep, purple color as well as killer notes of smoked meats, chocolate, blackberry and black raspberries. Deep, unctuous, open knit and layered, it continues to change in the glass, has a seamless and silky profile, and not a hard edge to be found.” – Jeb Dunnuck – 94 points
