This will be our last wine dinner partnership with the Red Stag Grill for 2022, and we're ending in style! Finca Decero has quickly risen the ranks as one of Argentina's premium producers in a relatively short period of time. Decero means “from scratch,” and that is an apt description of this family-owned and operated, estate winery. Thomas Schmidheiny literally started this winery with nothing but a parcel of land and a dream in 2000.
Today Finca Decero has really hit their stride, and their wines are not only better than ever, they are also incredible values. All of their wines are produced with 100% estate-grown fruit grown in the Agrelo district of Mendoza. This sweet spot has long been recognized as the top spot in all of Argentina to grow Bordeaux varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot.
Sounds good doesn't it? Trust me, it will be great, and Chef James Lumley will knock it out of the park (again) with his 5-course tasting menu. These are wonderful wines that "play very well" with food, and you will leave nourished, happy, and armed with a better understanding of Argentinian reds.
