European Table Wines - Free On Fridays Wine Tasting

European Table Wines - Free On Fridays Wine Tasting

Friday, September 29th from 4-7pm – We’re pouring a delicious and affordable trio of classic table wines from France, Spain, and Italy, and you’re invited!

In case you didn’t know, we’re pouring some truly world class wines tomorrow for our Super Saturday Wine Tasting. It’s only fitting that we balance that out with a sampling of some homier, country-styled wines from various parts of the Euro-zone. These are the types of wines we pride ourselves on finding, and we can’t wait to share them with you. Up first, it’s a fresh and herbal-accented Verdejo from Spain — this one has stood the test of time and has been in the store since day 1! After that, it’s a traditional Cotes du Rhone from France and a hearty and robust red from Italy’s Veneto region. Taste, learn, save every Friday at Table Wine!

All of the featured tasting wines are being offered at 20% off by the bottle on tasting day! All sales must be tendered by the end of business on Friday unless other arrangements are made. Email us at josh@tablewineasheville.com with questions.

1. 2016 Garciarevalo Casamaro Blanco (Rueda, Spain) – 90% Verdejo and 10% Viura fermented in stainless steel and bottle directly from the tanks. “Lots of bright lemon peel and blossom on the nose. Great purity of fruit, with notes of quince, melon, and apricot. On the palate it’s mineral-driven, with a pleasant light bitter note on the finish that makes you want more.” – Andre Tamers – De Maison Selections
Special Tasting Price: $10.39/bottle

2. 2015 Ferraton Pere et Fils Cotes du Rhone Rouge “Samorens” (Rhone Valley, France) – Since 1998, this house has worked in partnership with M. Chapoutier, and the wines have dramatically improved. 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 5% Cinsault fermented in stainless steel. “A terrific value is the 2015 Côtes du Rhône Samorens, which has lots of savory black cherry and blackcurrant characteristics to go with a medium to full-bodied, elegant style on the palate.” – Jeb Dunnuck – The Wine Advocate – 89 points
Special Tasting Price: $9.59/bottle

3.2015 Tenuta Sant’Antonio Scaia Corvina (Veneto, Italy) – 100% Corvina, usually the headlining grape in a Valpolicella, stands alone in this perfect “daily red.” Boasting rich and plump notes of ripe dark cherry, plum, pepper, and black tea, this offers a lot of character at a frugal price point. It also makes for a perfect pizza wine!
Special Tasting Price: $10.39/bottle
