Classic Thanksgiving Wines

Classic Thanksgiving Wines

Join us this Saturday, November 15th any time between 2 and 5 p.m. for our annual tasting featuring Classic Thanksgiving Wines. Whether you need good wines that will taste great with turkey, ham, and all of the fixins’ or affordable, value wines to keep the family happy and at peace, we’ve got you covered. John McCarthy and Damon Haynes from Proof Wine and Spirits will join us to pour 12 different wines from their extensive portfolio, and the tasting is free to the public. The prices on the wines range from $10 to $50, and even better all of the tasting wines will be on sale at 10% off by the bottle, 15% off if you mix any six of them, and 20% off if you mix any 12 or more of them. It’s the perfect time to taste, learn and save on wines that are guaranteed to make this Thanksgiving the best ever.

The Wines

1. Jean Bourdy Crémant du Jura
100% Chardonnay and every bit as good as many Champagnes at half the price.

2. Domaine Duffour Cotes de Gascogne
One of the best white wine values in the lineup. Fresh, tart, herbaceous and packed with ripe apple, melon and lime fruit.

3. Domaine Daulny Sancerre
Beautiful, stylish, Sauvignon Blanc from one of the region’s great producers. Lime, quince, ginger, integrated mineral — yep, all of that and a little bit more!

4. Jean Manciat Macon-Charnay “Franclieu”
Plump, rich, vibrant and mineral-laced Chardonnay from Southern Burgundy, this might be our top white wine pick for Thanksgiving this year.

5. Banyan Gewurztraminer
Dry and spicy, with exotic fruit and floral notes, this is one of the best renditions of Gewurztraminer produced in our country.

6. Renardat-Fache Cerdon de Bugey
This stuff should be illegal! A low alcohol, lightly sweet and sparkling blend of Gamay and Poulsard. I’ll let John and Damon tell you more about this “way too easy to drink” natural wine.

7. Bodan Roan Pinot Noir
A clean, bright, and fruit filled California Pinot Noir perfect for the meal or for drinking while you watch football post meal.

8. Clos de la Roilette Fleurie
Like Pinot Noir? You’ll love this Cru Beaujolais that flows with zesty berry fruit and pepper. This is our pick for the top red to go with turkey this year.

9. Bernard Baudry Chinon “Domaine”
Earthy, zesty, vibrant Cabernet Franc from one of the region’s masters. The perfect wine to pair with all of the earthy flavors at the table.

10. Piaugier Cotes du Rhone Rouge
This one is new and we predict it will become one of the best selling wines in the store. That is all!

11. Folk Machine Charbono
Charbono is almost extinct in California. We don’t understand why because it’s so tasty, kind of like a really good Italian Barbera. Come see what we mean.

12. Roger Perrin Chateauneuf du Pape
Hands down, one of the best Chateauneuf du Pape values in the world. This was Decanter’s (Britain’s Wine Spectator) top rated Chateauneuf of the vintage.
