Big, Free, Open House Holiday Wine Tasting!!! Taste 12 holiday appropriate wines and save big! Saturday, December 12th from 2-5 p.m. – I don’t think we could time this one much better! With Christmas less than two weeks away from this tasting, it’s the perfect time to stop by the store, taste, stock up, and save big on some holiday appropriate wines. Ryan Brazell and John McCarthy from Proof Wine and Spirits will join us to pour 12 different wines from their extensive portfolio. From festive sparkling wines and great values for your holiday parties to premium, higher end wines perfect for gift giving or enjoying with the Christmas meal, we’ll have all bases covered. The tasting is free to the public and all of the tasting wines will be on sale. It’s the perfect time to taste, learn and save on wines that are guaranteed to make this holiday season the best ever.

The Wines
1. NV Voirin-Jumel Champagne Brut Grand Cru
From the village of Cramant, the top spot in Champagne for Chardonnay, this is an amazing wine. With plenty of richness balanced by great natural acidity, it is a grandiose bottle of Champagne at a very fair price.
2. Huber Gruner Veltliner
Gruner Veltliner is Austria’s most prized grape. Fermented dry, this one shows a range of fresh and fruity flavors. Bottle in a 1 liter package (that’s an extra 1/3 of a bottle), this deliciously dry white wine is perfect for holiday parties.
3. Domaine Jean-Pierre et Jean-Francois Quénard Chignin
This super fresh, dry and zesty white wine hails from the Savoie region of France. Based entirely on the native Jacquere grape, it is often referred to as the “Muscadet of the Mountains.” Lovely pear, apple, lemon and mineral notes permeate this lovely white wine.
4. Immich Batterieberg Riesling Kabinett “C.A.I.”
Named in honor of Carl August Immich, the founder of the estate, this is dry Riesling perfection. If you’ve dismissed Riesling as a sweet, cloying drink, come try this!
5. André Bonhomme Viré-Clessé
André Bonhomme is one of the top producers in the Viré-Clessé AOC of Burgundy. 100% Chardonnay with plenty of purity and richness, this is really special stuff.
6. 2014 Domaine Renardat-Fache Cerdon de Bugey
This low alcochol, lightly sparkling, gently sweet wine was a hit at last year’s holiday tasting. It’s festive, it’s way too easy to drink, and it’s delicious!
7. Clos de la Roilette Fleurie
Year in and year out, this is one of our favorite Beaujolias’. From the Cru Village of Fleurie, it is a pretty wine that is laced with red fruits, forest floor, and spice notes. Treat it like you would a good Red Burgundy.
8. Chateau d’Oupia Minervois “Cuvée Tradition”
Many of you are already fans of the Chateau d’Oupia’s Carignan-based Les Heretiques. This is that wine’s big brother. This old vine blend of Carignan, Syrah, and Grenache is brimming with peppery, herbal, brambly fruit flavors.
9. Domaine Amido Cotes du Rhone Villages “Signargues”
It’s the best selling wine in the history of Table Wine! Sorry if you don’t like this Grenache-based wine, but we love it!
10. La Palazetta Rosso di Montalcino
This small family domaine is about as traditional as they come in Tuscany. His Rosso di Montalcino easily surpasses the quality found in many Brunello’s.
11. 2013 Federico Ribera del Duero Roble
Federico Fernandez is the brother of Alejandro Fernandez of Pesquera fame. He crafts a stunning and savory Tempranillo-based Ribera del Duero that would make a great companion to leg of lamb.
12. Hobo Wine Company Zinfandel “Branham Vineyard”
We’ll finish with a big, but balanced Zinfandel from the Rockpile AVA of Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley. Winemaker Kenny Likitprakong nails it every year with this one — a Zin to drink now and/or over the next 10 years!
