545 Wine Tasting - Try 5 Wines For $5 - Friday, June 28th., 2013 - 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

It’s an all South American lineup this Friday for our “545” wine tasting which is your chance to try 5 wines for $5. Both Chile and Argentina enjoy a wide variety of diverse and distinctive regions to which the vine is perfectly suited. From cooler climate, coastal vineyards perfectly situated for growing and producing fresh and distinctive white wines to warmer, drier spots that are ideal for the production of bold and rich reds, both of these countries are making some of their best wines ever.

We’ve got some great wines to share with you this Friday, and we encourage you to stop by for a low cost way to get your Friday night and week end off to a good start. We’ll start the tasting with local Asheville importer Eric Scheffer’s Bodega Gratia Sauvignon Blanc before we let you try the obscure and esoteric Sauvignon Gris from Cousino Macul, one of Chile’s oldest family owned wineries. After that, it’s all Malbec! Three of them to be exact, starting with the friendly and budget-priced one from La Posta before we try the big and “broad shouldered” new vintage from Catena. We’ll wrap it all up with the stunningly delicious version from Susana Balbo, one of Argentina’s marquis winemakers. $5/person…..Free for Grape Nuts
